IODP Education and Outreach

The Ocean Drilling Project (ODP) and now the Integrated Ocean Drilling Project (IODP) have produced a variety of educational materials for use by students and teachers. During E2C Workshops, we have distributed copies of the CDs and posters, and explored the web-based resources.

Here are links to find out more about these and other educational products on this theme.

You may also find useful curriculum ideas in some of the earlier Earth2Class Workshops on this theme with guest scientist Gerry Iturrino. These include:

December 2001: "Hydrothermal Systems"

September 2002: "Past, Present, and Future of the ODP"

January 2004: "Structure and Composition of the Ocean Crust"

There are also useful resources on the Borehole Research Group's web pages.
